Is Windows 8 The Savior Of Microsoft?

Is Windows 8 The Savior Of Microsoft?

Microsoft’s share in the market in recent years has diminished, or at best flat lined, because of Apple’s success with the iPhone and iPad. There is no doubt you have seen a commercial announcing the release of Windows 8. Microsoft has made sure every man, woman, and child is aware of their new OS. However, is it the savior Microsoft is looking for to return Microsoft to its former glory?

Have Your Cake and Eat It Too

The ingenious part of Windows 8 is its dramatically enhanced support for touchscreens. Microsoft wants consumers to realize the dual functionality potential of devices that are both computer (screen, keyboard, mouse setup) and mobile device (tablets, smartphones). Windows 8 is built to deliver the best of both worlds to consumers.

The World Has Gone App Crazy

With the popularity of mobile devices, consumers have learned to love apps. There truly is an app for whatever you can imagine. Windows 8 devices will not only run apps like a mobile device, but they will also behave like mobile devices. One of the main reasons Windows 8 PCs are able to behave like mobile devices is that Microsoft, through Windows 8, has created a way for PCs to boot up in 8 seconds.

The hurdle for Microsoft remains dispelling the rumors (and the truths) that Windows devices are not as stable as Macs … meaning Windows machines have a history of crashing. Windows 8 promises to be a new path for Microsoft. Microsoft hopes consumers will see the flexibility of using Windows 8 devices and realize the new found stability this new OS promises. Windows 8 is supposed to be the savior of Microsoft. Only time will tell.
